About

As a Michif woman with Red River roots living on the ancestral territory of the Tsawwassen and Musqueam First Nations in British Columbia, I am proud to be a citizen of Métis Nation British Columbia. My writing reflects the authentic lens through which I observe life, my wrestle with faith, my experiences as a heart mom and the long history of story-telling passed down by my Métis ancestors. My life’s extraordinary moments include life with my husband and grown children, good books and movies, walks along the beach with my pup Casey, organic sourdough toast with a cup of Jasmine Green tea and political advocacy. With a background in education, my life experiences have taught me that there is always more to know, and, by being curious, encouraging, and asking questions, we can change the spaces and places around us.
